Scattered

The gathering of the church is crucial, but no less important is the scattering of God’s people into mission. We believe it is the responsibility of every Christ follower to serve those in need inside and outside their traffic patterns. As followers of Jesus we do this because He first served us. Ways to serve in our city:

  • The Apple Tree at Garfield Elementary

  • Foster and Adoptive Outreach

  • Jail Ministry

  • Senior Services of South Sound

  • CareNet Pregnancy Center

  • City Gates (Supporting the Homeless and Needy)

  • Community Cares Volunteer (ECC’s Rent & Utility Assistance Program)

  • Volunteers In Paint

  • Family Support Services

These are just a sampling of ways to impact our community through ECC. If there are other local causes that you are involved in- or would like to be involved in, please let us know! We would love to dream and partner with you. If you are interested in being a part of this exciting ministry, please contact: Ken Rice kenr@ecconline.cc

The Apple Tree

ECC has partnered with our adopted Title I School, Garfield Elementary, in an outreach called “The Apple Tree". Between 50-53 percent of the students at Garfield are living at or below the national poverty level. This venue provides a means for us to  equip our adopted school with needed items that families in financial crisis are unable to provide for their kids. Here are a few ways that you can make a difference:

  • Be a  M.O.R.E. Volunteer (i.e. After School Art Class, Football Skills, Knitting, etc.)

  • United Way Senior Adult Reading Buddy Program

  • Men Needed to Mentor Young Boys

  • Volunteer 10 minutes for Running Club

  • Provide Peanut-Free Snacks for Classrooms

  • Support Students with Basic School Supplies

  • Provide a Dish During State Testing (Contact Us For Scheduled Dates)

  • Adopt a Classroom

  • Volunteer 30 Minutes for Recess

  • Flower Bed Clean Up

The opportunities are endless as we desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the students and staff. If you would like more information on how you can get involved, please contact: Jalee Rice jalee@ecconline.cc
